Ted here. Confession first, then the good stuff. I have owned a shirt that says Backup Plan Guy for about a week and I have already been asked whether it was a gift from my wife. It was not. I picked it myself, which somehow makes it funnier and also proves the point of the shirt.
What just showed up on the rack
A whole rack of tees landed at once, and the sorting hat put each one where it belongs. The ones about the house went straight to Husband HQ ~ Marriage Expert, Wife's The Boss, Always Right Staff. Read those three in a row and feel personally described. That is the idea. She is the hero of every one of them. We are the punchline, and we are fine with that.
Dad Duty got Chaos Coordinator and Still Unsupervised, which is really one shirt worn on two different days. Cold One Club took in Pour Choices Were Made and ON THE ROCKS, LIKE MY LIFE. It also took Drink Quackly, Think Slowly. for anyone whose lager has a duck on the label, or should.
The rest of the animal kingdom went to Just Because (Pigeon Or Statue, NO HUMPS GIVEN, Bleat Me Baby One More Time. and Too Hot for Nine Lives.). Nobody needs a reason to wear a goat pun. That is what the collection name is for...
Why a joke on a shirt beats a joke out loud
Out loud, you have to time it. On a shirt, it just sits there being right all day. Corporate Camouflage works in the office lobby. Fine Wine Aging works at the reunion. Tred Not Tired works on the day you are, in fact, tired. The person who gets it will tell you they get it. The person who does not will ask. Either way you have a conversation you did not have to start.
For the gift-givers who are not us

The Halloween Shop is open too, for the stretch of the year when a cat joke stops being a cat joke and becomes a costume. Same tees, slightly darker reasons to wear them.
How the soft ones actually feel
